Casting Aside Fear through Faith

Casting Aside Fear through Faith

Priest Clement
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

My dear brothers and sisters, today I want us to reflect upon an emotion that touches all our lives, an emotion that can cloud our judgment, dim our hope and make our hearts heavy: Fear.

But remember the words of our Lord, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10). God’s word never returns void. His promise is a reassurance, a balm to our trembling hearts.

In the life of faith, fear is not our portion. God calls us to step into the light of His love, which casts out fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of rejection – these are not from God, and they have no place in the hearts of those who abide in His love.

The antidote to fear is not courage but faith. Faith in the knowledge that we are held by a loving God who does not wish for us to live enslaved to our fears. Fear and faith cannot occupy the same space. When we choose faith, we make a conscious decision to trust God’s plan for us, even when we can’t see the road ahead. Embrace faith, cast aside fear. Remember that God is with you in every moment, ready to give you strength and uphold you.

Closing Prayer

Oh, Heavenly Father, we come before you with humble hearts. Help us to cast aside the fears that bind us and embrace the faith that frees us. Grant us the grace to trust in Your plan, the wisdom to seek Your guidance, and the courage to step into the future with faith and not fear. We ask this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
